This time, we’re shining a spotlight on five young athletes who are turning their passion into purpose—on their way to the 2025 Freestyle Trampolining World Championships in Barcelona. Get ready to meet the future of the sport!
Freestyle trampolining isn’t just about bouncing high—it’s about creativity, resilience, and a whole lot of airtime. At ACON, we’re proud to support five incredible athletes who are pushing the limits of what’s possible on a trampoline. Each of them started somewhere familiar—on a backyard trampoline, with a dream and a trick they just had to land.
We recently caught up with these sponsored athletes to hear more about their journeys—how they got started, what keeps them going, and what freestyle trampolining means to them. Their stories are as inspiring as their stunts, and we hope they’ll spark some big dreams for the next generation of gtrampers.
"The community made me fall in love with this sport—the friends, events, and experiences. It started to feel like more than just a hobby when I got sponsored by ACON in 2020."
Aleksi, 25, known in social media as @sainioaleksi, hails from Turku and is one of Finland’s most prominent freestyle trampoline athletes. With a background in ICT Engineering and a childhood spent training in gymnastics, Aleksi started doing flips at the age of five and never looked back.
Though he grew up playing football, trampolining quickly stole his heart when he began progressing rapidly at 18. “It felt like a fresh change from the rigid training structure I was used to,” he says. “Training and progressing at my own pace really did it for me.” And what has been Aleksis biggest moment so far? “Getting to unveil the best gtramp in the world on my own Instagram,” Aleksi shares about the ACON X 17ft Trampoline campaign he was the main star of. “Nailing one of the hardest gtramp tricks ever and showing the community the future of this sport was a magical moment.”
Aleksi’s off-season includes lifting weights 3–4 times a week, while summer sees him bouncing every day. “Seeing myself progress and setting a clear training structure definitely helps me stay motivated,” he explains. When it comes to safety, Aleksi builds up to tricks through progressive steps and careful prep. His favorite trick? The iconic triple backflip. On his radar: “Definitely a quadruple backflip x3 on gtramp.”
Aleksi credits trampolining for boosting his confidence, creativity, and health. “I really get to show my personality through this sport,” he says. His family has been there every step of the way—hosting friends, cheering him on, and giving him space to train. And the friendships? “Some of the closest I have,” Aleksi says. “The community is so welcoming and supportive of any newcomers.” His advice to parents? “Let them bounce—it’s better than sitting in front of a screen all day.” And to aspiring young trampoliners, he says, “Be patient, train with intent. Film your clips and share them on social media!”
"If your kid is out there bouncing on the trampoline every single day—honestly, that’s a great thing. I know it can look dangerous or a bit scary, but it can turn into something amazing."
Leevi, 21, known in social media as @leevi.flips , discovered trampolining over a decade ago thanks to a friend’s backyard setup. That’s where he landed his first flips—and found a spark that would grow into something bigger. His first tricks? A frontflip followed quickly by a backflip, and from there, he was hooked. Though he tried soccer and breakdancing, nothing matched the thrill of trampolining. Around 2017–2018, Leevi got serious about training, and his progress took off. “That’s when I had my biggest breakthrough,” he says. “I became the first person in the world to make a quint kaboom without getting a boost from someone else.”
Leevi takes a relaxed approach to training. “I don’t have a strict schedule,” he says. “If I’m feeling super motivated, I’ll train a lot. If not, I might just jump one day that week. That’s one of the things I love about this sport—it gives you freedom.” Confidence and consistency are his go-to strategies for learning new tricks: “I take it step by step to make it feel as safe as possible. That way I can push myself, but not recklessly.” Leevi dreams of turning his love of flipping into a career and says his favorite trick—if he had to pick—is fliffus (a double flip with half twist), for the sheer satisfaction of landing it. What stands out to him most about the trampolining world is its community. “Everyone’s super supportive and always cheering each other on,” he says.
His message to parents? Support your kids if they’re bouncing every day—it might look risky, but it can turn into something amazing. And for young flippers chasing big dreams, he offers simple but powerful advice: “With hard work and consistency, you can achieve some pretty incredible things.”
"Follow your heart, dream big and don’t fear to reach for the stars. Nothing is impossible if you truly believe in yourself!"
Niklas, better known as Andy in the community or as @ndflips, is a 22-year-old athlete from Salzburg, Austria. His nickname comes from his initials—“ND”—said quickly, and it’s stuck ever since. He first started flipping while doing parkour and training on a small garden trampoline his parents bought him. But everything changed the moment he saw someone doing freestyle trampoline on Instagram. That’s when his passion took flight, and GTramp became his focus. Before trampolining, Niklas had tried just about every sport out there—ice hockey (even playing for Red Bull), fencing, diving, soccer, judo… you name it. But it was freestyle trampolining’s self-taught, unstructured style that really resonated with him. “Looking back, I always liked teaching things to myself rather than getting them taught by someone. Freestyle Trampoline gave me exactly that sort of freedom,” he says.
Niklas says he truly realized the sport’s potential at the 2024 World Championships, when freestyle trampoline was featured alongside BMX and skating. “Seeing us perform and compete next to other big action sports blew me away,” he says. That moment expanded his vision for what the sport could become. But a major personal breakthrough came when he landed an Octuple Kaboom—a trick that once felt like a far-off dream. Trampolining has helped Niklas grow in all aspects of life. “It definitely taught me what being consistent really means—a skill that is incredibly important,” he says. Even in winter, there are hardly any days when he doesn’t bounce. For him, flipping is both training and therapy. “It’s my form of meditation,” he adds. When tackling new or riskier tricks, he’s cautious but confident: “Take your time. Don’t rush. Only take the next step when you feel truly ready.” His favorite tricks right now? Kabooms and Cody Fulls. And he’s laser-focused on landing one big goal: 12345 in Kabooms.
Niklas credits his parents’ encouragement and early support—especially that first trampoline—for helping him become who he is today. “Without them, I wouldn’t be here,” he says. Through trampolining, he’s also found two of his best friends, and he says the entire community remains one of the most uplifting parts of the sport. “Even though we have competitions, we still cheer each other on and celebrate each other's wins.” His message to families and future flippers:
“To parents—let your kids keep bouncing. Even if they don’t become athletes, they’re having the time of their lives out there. And to every young kid chasing flips: dream big. The stars aren’t as far as they seem.”
"Push your limits, try new tricks, enjoy every session, have fun with it!"
Sebastian or @sebastian.fuglestad_ at instagram, 18, is a rising star in the freestyle trampolining world, hailing from Norway. His journey began in gymnastics at just three years old, and by age six, he was landing backflips on the ground. But it was the discovery of freestyle trampoline in 2018/2019 that truly sparked something big. “It allowed me to move more freely and be creative,” he says. “That’s when I slowly started focusing only on freestyle—it was just so much more fun!”
Sebastian never tried any other sports—his heart was fully in gymnastics and trampolining. “These sports let me push my own limits using my body,” he explains. The turning point came when his skills began to shine on social media, and his dream of becoming one of the best felt more within reach. “That’s when I knew I wanted to do this forever.”
When asked about his biggest moments so far, Sebastian reflects on the powerful mix of mastering elite tricks, meeting amazing people, and being embraced by the freestyle trampoline community. “This sport has made me who I am today,” he says. “It’s given me friends all over the world and something I truly love.”
Sebastian trains early every morning at the gym to build his physical foundation, saving the afternoons for trick sessions. Motivation rarely wanes for him, but when it does, he pushes through: “Just get out there. The motivation will return, and the feeling afterwards is always worth it.”
For safety, he relies on smart steps and instincts: “I test the setup, and if it feels right, I go for it. Having others around or a spotter with a pad helps too.” His current favorite trick is a full out in (a triple flip with a twist in the middle), and his sights are set on nailing quint flips on the ACON X.
Sebastian’s mom has played a massive role in his journey. “She’s been incredibly supportive and let me take the risks I needed to feel this insane happiness on the trampoline,” he shares. Other family members have chipped in too—spotting him and helping with videos.
Community means everything to Sebastian. “I’ve built strong friendships through this sport. Events and meetups are always such a highlight,” he says. His advice to parents? “Support your kids and encourage them to keep learning.” And to young dreamers flipping in the backyard: “Push your limits, try new tricks, enjoy every session, have fun with it!”
"Everyone who has achieved great things started where you are now. The difference is they never gave up."
Alex or @_alexosborn_ in social media, 20, grew up in Canberra, Australia, and his journey began with a tiny backyard trampoline at just two years old. “As I grew up, I did parkour and movement with my dad and best friend,” he says. “I think my first trick was a frontflip when I was around 4 or 5.” Everything shifted when a trampoline park opened nearby—giving him access to performance tramps and igniting a new level of passion. By age 12, he was landing double and triple flips.
Though he played soccer and competed in taekwondo sparring for years, trampoline eventually took center stage. “The freedom to do my own thing and enjoy every training session is what made it stick,” Alex explains. “It doesn’t feel like training—it’s just me enjoying myself.”
His love for the sport deepened when he found the gtramp community on Instagram in 2017. “After my first GTGames in New Zealand in 2019, I started taking it seriously as a sport, not just a hobby.” One of his biggest milestones? Landing a quad backflip on his backyard trampoline. “At the time, it was the pinnacle of the sport. I had my mind set on that trick for years,” he shares. Another unforgettable moment was competing on the world stage in Barcelona and being featured on European television.
Alex trains several times a week across trampoline parks, gymnastics sessions, and his own backyard. “I also train tricking and do bodybuilding-style training at the gym 3–4 times a week,” he says. This helps him jump higher, tuck harder, and spin faster. For Alex, motivation comes naturally. “I enjoy the challenge of new tricks. And if I’m not feeling it one day, I don’t force it—that’s how I avoid injury and keep it fun.”
His method for staying safe? Smart progression. “I never just go for something huge—I build up with drills and prep steps to make sure I’m fully in control,” he says. His current favorite trick is a full full (double backflip with two twists), and his next big goal is landing a quad kaboom on gtramp. “It’s especially hard on a black bed trampoline—you have to give it everything.”
Family has played a huge role in Alex’s success. “They helped me get my first trampolines, supported me at comps, and encouraged me every step of the way,” he says. “My dad is the reason I got into movement sports to begin with.”
As for the community, Alex calls it “amazing—supportive, welcoming, and full of incredible friendships.” He believes trampoline is more than a sport. “It’s a community where we push each other, cheer each other on, and grow together.”
His message to parents? “Support and give your kids the opportunity to go further. It’s healthy, empowering, and truly life-changing.” And to young dreamers: “Stick with it. Everyone starts small. Progress safely and consistently, and you’ll be amazed at how far you can go.”
As these five athletes prepare for the biggest event of their careers so far, the excitement is building—not just for them, but for the entire freestyle trampolining community. The 2025 World Championships in Barcelona aren’t just about titles and trophies—they’re about coming together, pushing the sport forward, and celebrating the creativity and courage that make this scene so unique.
In our final blog post of the series, we’ll take you behind the scenes of the World Championships themselves. From event highlights to what it means for young trampoliners everywhere, it’s a story you won’t want to miss.
Until then—keep bouncing, keep dreaming, and stay inspired.
