This year, ACON Trampolines is proud to partner with the Freestyle Trampoline Association (FTA)—a global community of athletes who are redefining what it means to fly. This is the first in a series of blog posts that will spotlight the vibrant world of Freestyle Trampolining: the extraordinary young athletes leading the charge, the events capturing worldwide attention, and the meaningful careers being forged one flip at a time.
At ACON, we’ve always believed that trampolines are more than toys. They’re springboards for joy, movement, and potential. Now, through our collaboration with the FTA, we’re helping to elevate Freestyle Trampolining to even greater heights—bringing this incredible sport to new audiences around the world.
From Backyards to the Big Leagues: The Birth of a Movement
Freestyle Trampolining didn’t begin in stadiums or Olympic training centers. It began where most childhood adventures do: in backyards. Fueled by curiosity, courage, and creativity, young athletes began exploring what they could do on their family trampolines—recording their attempts, celebrating their breakthroughs, and sharing every wild twist and flawless landing on platforms like Instagram.
What started as a series of raw, homemade clips turned into a viral phenomenon. Social media didn’t just broadcast their tricks—it connected athletes across continents, giving rise to a deeply supportive global community. A culture was born: one that values authenticity over medals, expression over perfection, and connection over competition.
As the clips gained millions of views, something remarkable happened. This wasn’t just a trend anymore. It was a movement—and the foundation of a new sport.
What Is Freestyle Trampolining?
Freestyle Trampolining is an action sport that blends technical flips, gravity-defying tricks, and personal style into an expressive and high-energy art form. Unlike traditional gymnastics-based trampoline disciplines, Freestyle isn’t bound by strict judging systems or rigid routines. Instead, it celebrates individuality, progression, and creativity.
The Freestyle Trampoline Association (FTA) was created to give this sport the structure it needed to flourish while preserving its free-spirited essence. Through global events, training seminars, and athlete support systems, the FTA helps athletes unlock their physical and creative potential—safely and strategically.

Imagine spending years watching someone’s journey online, cheering their progress from afar—and then meeting them, face-to-face, on the same competition floor.
