Have you always wanted to learn from the best? Now’s your chance! Our trampoline trick master Markku Keski-Oja (@marqflips) is here to show how to do a backflip on a trampoline.
Practicing trampoline backflips safely is all about following the steps and making sure that you feel confident in what you are doing. If you are still novel to trampoline tricks, practice Pullovers (watch Pullover tutorial video here) first before attempting to learn how to do a backflip on a trampoline.
Familiar with Pullovers? Then this step should be easy. Start with smaller bounces and slowly increase the height of the jump. Looking up while falling down will give you a confidence boost.
Follow the same steps as in step 1, but do a tuck instead. Grasp your legs in the air as you jump on your back. To get momentum, you can rotate with the help of your arms.
Pullovers have a similar feeling to how a backflip on a trampoline feels. Therefore, practice some pullovers before moving to the next step.
It's time to just do it once you feel confident. Make yourself more comfortable by using a crash mat underneath. It is more important to do the flip than to land perfectly during this step.
In order to avoid hurting yourself, you must never hesitate mid-air when doing a backflip. Once you decide to do it, go for it 100%.
Now that you’re flipping backward, it’s time to learn to land perfectly. Aim to land on both feet and remember to use your arms to get more air and rotation to the jumps.
Practice tucking the jump in order to make backflips look smoother and get more rotation to the backflip. Watch the video tutorial to the end to see the final step.
In this trampoline trick tutorial, we taught you how to do a backflip on a trampoline. By following this beginner friendly tutorial, you should be able to master the backflip in no time. Remember to take your time and practice any trampoline tricks safely.
The trampoline used by Markku in the tutorial was our flagship model 16 Sport HD.
